I was supposed to go to Belgium with my girlfriend in 20 days. Sadly, we’re postponing that trip.

We have tickets to go see family in Europe in O ctober, and I’m not even sure if I could go visit in good conscience even then, especially since they’re older and the virus will still likely be hanging out.

We’re talking about an October timeline. Virus will probably still be around then, but I think it’ll be more back to normal then where I wouldn’t be as worried about it.

That sucks. A friend got married in Scotland back in April 2018, glad this wasn’t going on then.

We were planning on going to Disneyland this year, but my mom felt like God was telling her something bad would happen in 2020 , so we went to Disneyland last year instead. I guess we really dodged a bullet there...

Had an Iceland (loop the island) and Norway (fjords and stuff) trip planned in a couple months. Already paid for it - whoops. Hope we can get credit, transfers, refunds, or a combination of that. Expecting to lose most/all of it though. No trip insurance, but sounds like a lot of places are trying to get out of p aying that anyways.

I’d argue that you jumped right in front of the bullet , this year you could have avoided Disneyland ;).

Yep, all the stories I’ve read are that trip insurance (usually a bad deal anyway) have loopholes for this.

Yeah, I’ve never gotten it before. Would assume the fine print says “N o refunds ever. Sorry suckers!” somewhere lol.

Yeah, I don’t know why they are. It’s weird. You’d think they’d just refund any existing tickets and ground anything with under about 70% occupancy. They’ve been running for max profits for nearly a decade now, I don’t understand why they’re still simply flying to fly when they would happily mess with itineraries (inconveniencing the customer to the maximum legally possible without being on the hook for something, and often beyond because they knew most didn’t know what the limits were) for max profit only a couple months ago.

My buddy (pilot) just left on a trip and he’s flying 4-5 days then in quarantine for 14 before he can fly again. Kinda ridiculous if you ask me.

What’s the difference between a yellow plane and a blue plane?

I have no idea. I’ve been wondering the same thing. It is a recent change to FR24.

Maybe this is a money bleed to facilitate higher aid amounts when money is disbursed.

Flights currently tracked via satellite-based ADS-B will have blue icons. When clicking on a flight tracked by satellite, you’ll be able to learn more about the particular data source and see additional flight tracking details. Due to the possible latency of up to 10 minutes depending on the satellite source, satellite-tracked aircraft will only be displayed when we lack terrestrial coverage of a flight. As the number of satellites contributing data to the network increases, data volume will increase and latency will decrease.

Being the type to conserve just about everything and seek efficiency where it’s possible, this mindset is baffling to me.

I think it’s along the lines of how some corporate groups are forced to act - if you don’t spend the entire budget, next year’s budget will be less.

There’s only so much of that. Europe looks to have that kind of traffic.
I guess many commercial carriers also carry cargo, so there might be something to this theory, but you’d expect it to be even lower over the US.
